Castaway Cay

Hello! I'm Melanie, and while I am a new Travel Advisor, I am not new to travel. A Disney fan and New England native, my very first plane ride was to Walt Disney World in the 5th grade. I spent many years trying to convince my parents to take us back! I loved Disney animation so much, and dreamed of someday being an animator for Disney Studios, so I went to college for Art and Theatre. When I had the opportunity to study Art History in Italy, I jumped at the chance to travel again. I spent 3 great weeks touring just about every cathedral and museum in Florence and Rome. I met my husband at college, and we saved every penny for over a year to get to honeymoon in Australia; a bucket list trip for both of us. I knew then, that anything was possible.

When our kids were small, we took them on their first plane ride to Walt Disney World, and I knew I wanted to bring them back as often as I could. I still remember the magical feelings of our first vacation as a young family. We recently took them on our first cruise with Disney Cruise Line, and it was one of the best vacations we have ever had!

As a Broadway theatre fan, I enjoy any chance to see touring shows or visit the Boston area. We are lucky to have the Amtrak Downeaster which travels down the east coast of New England and makes travel to big cities so much easier!

Over the years though, various challenges of traveling with children, such as illness, food allergies, sensory limitations, and (gulp) even missed flights, have added extra stress, but with some planning, patience and flexibility, we have always had memorable family vacations.

*Spoilers* I have never worked as an animator, but after many years and family vacations later, I am blessed to have the opportunity to work with Wishful Dreams Travel and to formally pursue my love of both Disney and travel. I get to help families plan vacations to the most magical place on earth! What a dream come true!
