About Me

Global Luxury, Adventure, and Dark Sky Travel

During my time living overseas I was able to experience travel to places I never thought I’d see, experience cruising to exotic locations (such as Istanbul, Ephesus, Yalta and Odessa on the Black Sea), stay in luxurious lodgings (the Waterford Castle Hotel with ancient turrets and its own moat) and take part in exhilarating activities (star gazing under Fayoum Egypt's starry dark skies!) that I never even dreamed of. I believe travel is about making connections and honoring the spirit of exploration – both inside and outside yourself. No matter where in the world you yearn to explore next - on pristine beaches or ancient, historic cobblestone streets, luxury resorts or aboard a sumptuous shipboard cabin, I’d be honored to work with you to help fulfill your spirit of exploration.

Adventure Travel
If, like me, you were a bit of a scaredy cat growing up, the idea of “adventure travel” was seen as a direct challenge to my appreciation of all things safe. But, once you’ve made yourself try One Tiny Thing that scared you and have seen how much fun (and terrifying!) it was, you’re often ...Read More ▶

Once-in-a-Lifetime Trip to Egypt
Reviewed By Emily K - New York, NY | Traveled to Egypt | Africa
Susan worked with an Egyptologist and a local travel company to plan a fantastic 10 day trip to Egypt. From flights to transfers to hotels to in-country flights, site visits, snorkeling in the Red Sea and star gazing under the Western Desert skies in Fayoum, the trip was planned to perfection. I didn't have to think about a thing except enjoying the sites and marveling at the wonders. The Egyptologist/Guide Susan got for us was also wonderful - he answered every question we had in depth with context we didn't know we needed. I'd love to go back, and if I manage to do so, I know who to call!
Susan Serven responded
"Thank you for your review Emily! I loved working with you to plan your trip to Egypt and hope to work with you again. "
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Transformative Travel
Reviewed By Lorenzo1066 - Connecticut | Traveled to Egypt | Africa
Susan organized and led a transformative tour of Egypt that opened my eyes to just how varied and beautiful Egypt can be -- from the Red Sea to the Western Desert to the Pyramids of Giza and the energy of Cairo. One location after the other just had me stunned. And all this wonderment (I can't think of a better word for it) without a hitch or hicup -- that being said, I have no doubt Susan would have addressed it without hesitiation.
Susan Serven responded
"I'm glad you found your trip to be transformational! That's what we always strive for. Looking forward to working with you again. "
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Amazing Egypt Trip - 2025
Reviewed By Jen and Ash Travel - New Canaan, CT | Traveled to Egypt | Africa
From Jennifer N., New Canaan, CT My daughter and I wanted to visit Egypt as part of an extended trip to Italy to attend a friend’s wedding in Venice. Susan Serven was pivotal in making our Egypt portion a huge success. She spoke with me in detail about flights, logistics, and possible itineraries, depending on the number of days we could allot for our visit. She discussed hotel, food, and site options with us, where she’d stayed and what she’d done during her visits to Egypt. She also introduced us to a wonderful Egyptologist with deep experience of each of the sites we wanted to visit, and connected us with the very professional in-country tour company he worked with, in order to finalize our itinerary and confirm all details. Everything was perfect and very well organized from start to finish, and we had an absolutely incredible time.
Susan Serven responded
"Thanks so much Jennifer, it was a pleasure working with you to help plan your trip to magnificent Egypt! I'm thrilled you had such a wonderful time!"
I would recommend this agent to my family and friends.

Fayoum, Egypt: Where Earth, Sky, and Silence Meet

Our wonderful guide, Egyptologist Fouad Berto, had suggested a visit to Fayoum, in the Western Desert, a shortish (about 2hr) drive from Cairo. He mentioned a few sites but honestly, I think he was saving one of the best parts of our trip for last because everything just kept getting better and better. Fayoum is a magical place, qu...

Now, I’ve never been to the Red Sea and I’ve never been snorkeling (well, one other time but it didn’t compare to Egypt so doesn’t count).
