For first-time visitors, Walt Disney World can feel overwhelming with so much to see and do. But with a little planning, you can keep the meltdowns low and the magic high! Here’s my take on an ideal, family-friendly trip that balances fun, relaxation, and the must-see moments.

DAY1

Day 1 – Arrival Day
Take it easy! Keep this day simple and mostly unplanned to allow for any travel delays and to help everyone settle in. Explore your resort, enjoy the pool, and check out the amenities. Later, stroll over to Disney Springs for shopping, dining, and a relaxed introduction to Disney.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Check and explore your resort. There is always a list of daily activities!
Make sure your have your bathing suits ready for some pool fun.
DAY2
Walt Disney World

Day 2 – EPCOT
Start your adventure at EPCOT. Explore Future World innovations, then wander the World Showcase. Sample treats from around the globe, enjoy attractions like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and plan for a leisurely dinner followed by fireworks over the lagoon.

DAY3

Close Day
Day 3 – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Step into the magic of movies at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Enjoy Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, and live shows. Plan high-demand rides early, then finish the evening with dining and entertainment with closing your park day watching Fantasmic!
HIGHLIGHTS:
Toy Story Mania is a must do at least twice to see who gets the highest score for the day.
DAY4

Day 4 – Relax & Resort Day
Take a breather! Enjoy your resort’s pool, spa, or recreational activities. Head back to Disney Springs for shopping and a leisurely dinner, or consider hopping to other Disney resorts to explore their pools, dining, and amenities — a fun sneak peek for your next Disney vacation (because we know you’ll want to go back!).
HIGHLIGHTS:
Take a ride on the Monorail and Skyliner for some amazing views!
DAY5

Day 5 – Animal Kingdom
Venture into the wild at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Explore Pandora – The World of Avatar, take a safari through the savanna, and enjoy the trails and animal exhibits. Take breaks in shaded areas to keep energy high for the full day of adventure.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Keep an eye out for Kevin from UP! He likes to wander the park.
DAY6

Day 6 – Magic Kingdom: The Grand Finale
Save the best for last! Spend your final park day at Magic Kingdom. Experience iconic attractions like Cinderella Castle, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Jungle Cruise. Wrap up your trip with the magic of the Happily Ever After Fireworks Show over Cinderella Castle — the perfect way to end your first Disney World adventure.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Make sure to get a dole whip! It's a classic Disney snack.
DAY7

Day 7 – Resort Day & Departure
Take a final day to enjoy your resort — swim, relax, and maybe revisit favorite spots or activities you missed. This slower day helps avoid a rushed morning and gives everyone a chance to recharge before heading home.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Book a later flight so you don't have to rush around in the morning.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Obviously, some families cannot take that much time from work to do an entire week at Walt Disney World but I can help create an itinerary where you still get to experience the magic, have fun, and not feel stressed!
