This wasn't just a train ride. It was a moving postcard, a rolling five-star hotel, and an unforgettable immersion into the heart of the Canadian Rockies.

Day 1: Departure from Vancouver – Where Urban Meets WildOur journey began in Vancouver, where the crisp coastal air hinted at the adventure ahead. The station buzzed with excitement, but boarding the train felt more like stepping into a serene luxury retreat than a transportation hub. I chose the GoldLeaf Service, and the moment I ascended to the domed glass car, I was spellbound. Plush reclining seats, panoramic views, and a dedicated team of hosts welcomed me warmly with mimosas and smiles.As we glided out of the city, the urban skyline slowly gave way to emerald forests and glassy lakes. We passed the rushing waters of the Fraser River, crossed dramatic canyons, and hugged steep cliff faces as we wound through British Columbia's wild heart. Overnight in Kamloops – A Taste of the WestWe arrived in Kamloops in the evening and were shuttled to a cozy hotel for a restful night. The town felt like a living western film set, with its relaxed vibe and warm hospitality. It was the perfect contrast to the rugged beauty we'd seen all day and a gentle reminder that even adventures need moments of pause.

Day 2: Into the Rockies – From River Valleys to Snow-Capped Majesty 

On day two, the scenery turned dramatic. Towering peaks pierced the clouds as we ascended into the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Waterfalls spilled down mountainsides like silver ribbons, and we passed through Spiral Tunnels—an engineering marvel surrounded by jaw-dropping wilderness. This stretch from Kamloops to Banff is often called the most scenic rail journey in the world—and it truly lives up to the name.The highlight was crossing the Continental Divide and seeing the glacial blue waters of Lake Louise in the distance. Elk and eagles made surprise cameos along the way, and our hosts shared stories of the land’s First Nations heritage, gold rush days, and railway pioneers.

Arrival in Banff – The Mountain Jewel.  Rolling into Banff felt like arriving at a fairytale. Nestled among towering peaks and wrapped in pine-scented air, this alpine town is a true gem. From here, the adventure possibilities are endless: soaking in hot springs, hiking around turquoise lakes, or simply enjoying a fireside cocktail with views of Mount Rundle.
