Creating Magic Beyond the Castle: My Life as a Disney Travel Specialist

When I tell people I’m a Disney travel advisor, their faces light up instantly. There’s something about the word Disney that awakens joy in people of all ages. For me, helping families experience “the most magical place on earth” is more than a job—it’s a calling. My love for Disney began as a child, when I first saw Cinderella's Castle shimmer at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. That first trip with my parents and sister,  filled me with wonder, but what truly stayed with me was how Disney made us feel—connected, joyful, and completely immersed in the magic. We were hooked, and became a Disney family! We took several Disney trips thruout my childhood and beyond. When I had my own children, the tradition continued and we traveled in a pack...my parents, my family of 4, and my sister's family of 4. Truly magical trips that I will cherish forever!

Many, many years after my very first trip, I realized I could share that same feeling by helping others plan their own Disney adventures. After years in sales and priding myself in excellent customer service, I trained through the College of Disney Knowledge, becoming a certified Disney travel advisor. I learned even more about every Disney detail—from resorts and dining to Genie+ and cruises—but what matters most is understanding each family’s unique vision. Disney isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s deeply personal. Every trip begins with a conversation. I ask families what “magical” means to them—whether that’s meeting Mickey, exploring galaxies in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, or relaxing by the pool with Mickey waffles. From there, I craft a personalized itinerary that fits their style, budget, and dreams. My goal is always to remove the stress, so families can focus on creating memories. Customer service and Magic is at the heart of everything I do. Like Disney itself, I believe every guest deserves to feel special. That means being available for questions, booking hard-to-get dining reservations, adjusting plans when needed, and adding little touches of pixie dust. I treat each client as if they were part of my own family. One of my favorite stories involves a mom who was overwhelmed planning her first Disney trip. After we built a manageable, magical plan together, she returned saying it was “the first time she’d truly felt like she was on vacation.” Moments like that remind me why I love what I do.

Disney is constantly evolving, and I stay up to date with every change—new attractions, resorts, and even Disney Cruise Line and Aulani adventures. Whether it’s a first visit or a tenth, I strive to create experiences that blend excitement with togetherness. Because at its core, Disney isn’t just about rides or shows—it’s about family. People often ask me why Disney is called “the most magical place on earth.” My answer is simple: it’s where imagination and connection meet. It’s where grandparents laugh with grandchildren, where dreams feel real, and where time slows down just long enough for families to truly be together. Being a Disney travel specialist allows me to create that magic every day. I don’t just book vacations—I help families make memories they’ll treasure forever. When I say, “Have a magical day,” I mean it from the heart. Because in my world, magic isn’t just found in the parks—it’s found in the moments we help bring to life.
