Japan is my favourite Asian country to visit! What’s not to love?

I have travelled around Japan extensively, and have visited Japan at least once a year for the past 10 years. I have explored the delightful culinary scenes, the ancient temples and historic sites, and the breathtaking natural beauty of the land.

Japan is a land where everything works and makes sense, from the heated toilet seats to the multitude of vending machines that sell everything you need! The food is minimalist but never simple by any means. It’s where you can buy a bunch of grapes for $45 dollars but tastes divine or a juicy mango for $30! Even their 7Eleven stores are renowned for their fried chicken and onigiri. 

They have the most efficient and clean subway system in Tokyo and the sleekest Shinkansen (bullet trains) that are always on time!They live in a society where respect and honour is woven into their every being. The balance between the old and the modern is fascinating. Their traditions and work ethic are to be marvelled and learnt from.

I had the privilege to visit Japan this April to experience the Cherry Blossom Season. And it didn’t disappoint. I spent time chasing cherry blossoms in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Tokyo was crowded but still beautiful. Kyoto and Osaka were just picture perfect with all the heavily laden cherry blossom branches draped over the canal banks. Families picnicked under the blossoming trees, vendors selling their various cherry blossom flavoured sweets, beautiful kimono clad girls with cherry blossom flowers adorned their braids; it was every thing and more what I expected it to be!

It's truly a worthy bucket list item....
