Our time in Maui began in Kihei, staying with friends and settling quickly into the island’s relaxed rhythm. With a convertible Jeep as our constant companion, every drive felt like part of the vacation — sunshine overhead, ocean views around every bend, and the simple joy of nowhere to rush.

We spent days exploring the island, driving through Lahaina and continuing on to the golden sands of Kaanapali Beach, where the water glows in shades of blue you don’t forget. One morning was dedicated to golfing in Wailea, where manicured fairways meet sweeping ocean views and the scenery is as memorable as the round itself. Later, lunch at Kapalua Golf Course gave us the chance to relax, enjoy great food, and take in the dramatic coastal backdrop.

One of the most unforgettable moments of the trip was a whale watching excursion. Seeing humpback whales rise from the water and breach so close to the boat was awe-inspiring — a powerful reminder of how special Maui’s natural surroundings truly are. We also made our way to the North Shore, watching massive waves crash against the coastline, equal parts thrilling and humbling.

Evenings brought a mix of comfort and elegance, including a memorable dinner at the Four Seasons, where exceptional service and island-inspired flavors elevated the night. And no trip to Maui would be complete without Mama’s Fish House — a lunch filled with incredibly fresh seafood, ocean views, and that unmistakable feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be.
