About Me

Portugal is a country where history, landscape and daily life blend effortlessly, offering travels a mix of culture, cuisine and coastline.  From vibrant cities to quiet beaches and hilltops. Lisbon, the capital, is the countries heartbeat. Built across seven hills along the Tagus river, the city feels both grand and intimate. Yellow trams traveling through narrow streets, amazing tile facades know as Azulejos, while viewpoints offer awesome vies over rooftops and water.  Neighborhoods like Alfama preserve the cities Moorish past, where Fado music drifts through most doors at night, expressing pride and the sense longing. Lisbon is also modern and creative with a thriving food scene, contemporary art spaces, and lively riverfront areas.Just outside Lisbons lies Sintra (wife's favorite city), a place that almost feels unreal. Set among the misty of hills and dense forest. Sintra is famous for its romantic palaces and estates. From the colorful Pena Castle which crowns the landscape like something from a fairy tale to the Moorish Castle that stretches along rugged ridge lines with views of the Atlantic ocean. Sintra's gardens, hidden paths, and historic villas make it a perfect contrast to Lisbon's city life.To the north, you have the of Nazare which is world renowned for its waves and surfing but this city is way more than that. It offers some of the best seafood dishes in Portugal, the bread is mouth watering. Further north, Porto offers a rhythm. Anchored by the Douro river, Porto is known for its dynamic riverside scenery, steep streets and centuries-old connection to Port Wine.  Across the river in Vila Nova de Gaia, wine cellars invite visitors to sample the wine the city is famous for. Porto is quieter and more reflective than lisbon.Travel Further north, Braga (my birth city) stands as one of Portugal's oldest cities and a spiritual center of the country. Known for its churches and religious heritage, Braga blends ancient roots with the youthful energy thanks to its large student population. The Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, with its grand baroque staircase, is one of the city's most iconic sights, offering both architectural beauty and peaceful views of the city and surrounding countryside.Portugal's beaches are among its greatest treasures. Along Algarve coast, limestone cliffs frame secluded coves.  Algarve is the most southern tip of Portugal and its has some of the most beautiful golden beaches and the region is paradise for beach lovers, from small fishing villages to Albufeira being its most popular beach destination with amazing beaches and vibrant night life which attracts visitors from around the world.
