Hi, I'm Vanessa, a travel agent based in the Southeast and the founder of Atypical Twist — a travel experience designed for those who don't settle for ordinary.

Long before I became a travel agent, I was already the person everyone called when it was time to plan a trip. Whether it was researching the best cruise deals, hunting down the perfect hotel, or piecing together flights for a group of family or friends — that responsibility naturally fell to me, and honestly, I loved every minute of it. What started as a passion for finding the best experiences at the smartest price eventually became something I knew I had to turn into more.

My travel philosophy was shaped by years of personal exploration across the Caribbean, Europe, North America, and beyond. From the turquoise waters of Aruba and Curaçao to the cobblestone streets of Lisbon and Barcelona, from the ancient ruins of Rome to the volcanic shores of Tenerife — I've experienced travel as a solo adventurer, as part of a couple, and with family. That range of perspective means I understand what different types of travelers truly need, and I tailor every recommendation accordingly.

But if I had to name one journey that changed everything, it would be my Mediterranean cruise through the Greek Isles and the Amalfi Coast. The food, the scenery, the warmth of the people — it was breathtaking in every sense of the word. That trip is a big part of why I do what I do today.

My Caribbean experience runs deep. I've personally explored the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Roatan, Costa Rica, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Grand Turk, Bonaire, St. Maarten/Martin, St. Thomas, Barbados, Tortola, Grenada, Antigua, Ocho Rios, and more. Whether it's a beach day, a shore excursion, or finding the best local spot off the tourist trail — I know these destinations intimately.
