My personal favorite travel experience is a river cruise.  There's no better way to immerse yourself in the local culture of multiple destinations in one trip.  You can make it as active as you'd like, or as relaxed as you'd like.  Either way, it's a completely stress-free way to travel.  Not to mention the all-inclusiveness, with meals, along with beer and wine, and most excursions included.
