This is information about my August trip to Alaska with my Travel with Me Group, we had a great time!  I send many people to Alaska, let me get you there!

Two whole weeks in Alaska!  WOW. We had a wonderful time.  So much to see and experience.  The 7 day cruise was relaxing and enjoyable with delicious food and great entertainment.  The ports along the way offered fun excursions, from panning for GOLD to cruising in a Crab boat used on the famous TV show "Deadliest Catch" and lots of things in between.

The second 7 days began when we disembarked the cruise and traveled by Holland America Buses to Portage Glacier and a stream where Salmon were swimming.    We then traveled to a beautiful resort in the tiny Ski town of Alyeska, Alaska.

From Anchorage, we boarded the McKinley Express train to Denali National Park.  We stayed at Holland Americas McKinley Chalets for several days while we toured Denali National Park.  While at Denali National Park, we were able to view Denali Mountain, the tallest mountain in North America at 20,000+ feet.  Only 30% of travelers get to see any portion of Denali as usually it is covered by clouds.  1% of travelers get to see Denali in it's entirety, we were the 1%!!! What a privilege.  It is so very beautiful covered in snow.  

Our last days were spent in Fairbanks where we enjoyed a Salmon Bake & Dinner theater show, a chance to see an old Gold dredge and pan for more gold and lastly take an old time paddle Riverboat ride, which included a stop at a famous Dog Mushing homestead and native Alaskan tribe village.  These excursions were some of the very best of the entire trip and were included by Holland America as part of our trip. 

If you only plan to go to Alaska once in your lifetime, I highly recommend a Cruisetour.  Not all of them are 2 weeks long, some are shorter, some longer.  There is so much more to see of Alaska than you can see from the Cruise.
