The view of Santa Barbara! Let's go!
To those of you who are just dying to travel NOW and cannot reach the European continent, how about thinking about the lovely city of Santa Barbara, California?
When thinking of all my European travels and trying to think of a closer comparison in the US, Santa Barbara rings in first.
Think about beautiful homes on the hillside - can you say Positano? Think about the wonderful wineries - can you conjure up Tuscany? Can you envision the gorgeous vegetation, especially the flowers and the lavender? Provence, maybe? Or how about the stunning blue waters of the Pacific - you could be looking at the waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea!
There are many non-stop flights into LAX but you could also fly into Santa Barbara's airport, SBA, only 7 miles west of downtown Santa Barbara.
Many charming boutique hotels are in Santa Barbara, just waiting to welcome you. One of my favorites is the Canary Hotel. LOVELY rooftop pool, great location and only 121 rooms. AND there is a great Italian pottery outlet only .07 miles away!

It was a pleasure to work with Linda Gartner when planning our family trip to Italy this past summer. She is a true professional! From beginning to end, she was instrumental in planning and coordinating our trip. We started with a meeting to discuss our interests while traveling in Italy, and she quickly sketched out a starting-point itinerary. We tweaked that itinerary until we were completely satisfied and excited for our upcoming trip! Linda took care of everything we needed for our international trip, from airline tickets to rail tickets, to planning excursions including a private tour of Tuscany and our private wine tasting at a lovely vineyard! Bellissimo! The hotel she suggested in Positano was breathtaking! Also, after experiencing a family emergency at home, she and her colleague worked quickly and diligently to get us home on an earlier flight! Given all this, her attention to detail and extensive knowledge of Europe, I would HIGHLY recommend working with Linda Gartner!

Amazing Wine and Dine tour through Italy

It was so easy! Prior to the trip, she communicated regularly to the group to let us know deadlines for invoices, etc., She does all the work. We just show up and enjoy! I can't say enough how amazing this experience was for us. The amount of planning that went into the trip was so obvious once we got started. We went from Sept 5-16. The vacation was Wine and Dine through Italy. And we did just that! We wined and dined in Orvieto, Florence, Siena, Modena, Bologna, Como, and Milan. With that much in the itinerary, you would think that the trip would be exhausting. But the planning was impeccable…therefore very, very easy. So…would I recommend you contact or travel with Linda? You bet. It truly was the trip of a lifetime. I can’t wait to go on her next one. Hope to see you there with me!

First Time Abroad

Fall 2018, I decided to make the plunge into planning a Europe trip for my parents, sister, and myself. Immediately I knew I would need the help of a travel agent, as my family is not very savvy when it comes to vacationing, and we have never left the country. A quick google search serendipitisouly led me to Linda, and I am so glad it did because she was perfect for our family. Right away she made an appointment with me to show me her special European map that highlightedall the places she had been. She helped set the framework for the trip by saying she liked to pick 3 or 4 cities and plan a loop. We talked about the goals for the trip, picked the cities with each family member in mind, and then she went from there. Linda was flexible with giving choices but also making expert decisions herself when I felt overwhelmed. She stayed in touch throughout the entire planning process, giving many updates and tips for the trip. Vacation was the best ever, especially for our first time abroad.

The trip that will be after Covid-19!

Linda helped us plan and replan (as i made a mistake) our trip -and then helped us navigate the disappointment of not being able to go b/c of Covid-19. She invested time in getting to know my kiddos interests and aligning our trip plans to their needs. Example - my son planned a 14 day trip to all his destinations--she helped me navigate the plans with him and then my daughter who was not so interested she helped figure out her love of food and sent us ideas on she could eat her way through Europe. Linda was great to work with. She met with us to figure out what we were hoping for our trip and then put together a terrific package. She is definitely an expert when it comes to Italy, and found some terrific side trips during our visit. We visited and toured family owned vineyards and wineries, stayed at a castle in Tuscany and spent time in the big cities. All the hotels Linda booked for us were first rate and put us within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.

Linda is awesome! She was knowledgable, friendly, and truly interested in what we wanted. She asked thoughtful, probing questions to find out what we had in mind. She then provided a variety of options. She was always prompt, patient, and informative in her responses. She was diligent in finding activities that we requested, tracking down the best possible solutions. When COVID 19 came into play, she kept us updated and laid out all the possible courses for us to follow. She patiently found answers to my many inquiries so that I could be as informed as possible before choosing the path to, unfortunately, cancel our trip. Mother/Daughter Girls trip

Our mother/daughter planning began about 1 year prior to the actual trip. We visited London, England and Paris, France. Contacting and working with Linda Gartner was the best choice we could have ever made. We provided Linda with our anticipated travel dates and where we wanted to go. We also gave her an "extensive" list of ideas. She was able to take our wish lists and provide us with realistic expectations of what we could actually accomplish in our time span and most importantly help us organize and prioritize our "wants" most efficiently.
Hands down best trip ever. Everything was organized for us, timed meetings, timed departures, suggestions to get to our tour guides and other places, complete daily schedule everyday! Wow.
It is hard to put into words how important it was for us to have her experience planning this trip. We worked with her off and on for many months and then met with her about 3 weeks prior to go over every detail.

9 trips and counting...

We’ve booked 9 trips with Linda beginning in 2022. Linda has always helped get exactly what we want, even when the odds are against us! Our first trip on a cruise after Covid isolation ended, was abruptly interrupted when the cruise company made us leave the ship after contracting covid (this is when they had daily testing) and isolate for a week in a Frankfurt hotel. A very sad experience, but Linda was instrumental in getting us on a flight back home as soon as we could. All our other trips (including to Antarctica) have gone without a hitch. With our last booking on a cruise, we were having a difficult time with the cruise company regarding our air arrangements, but Linda stepped in and after a bit of back and forth, got us what we wanted at no extra “deviation” charge. She can be a “miracle worker” when things go wrong, and we appreciate her to no end! Knowledgeable, efficient, detail-oriented, and just a nice person. Linda is highly recommended.

We had never used a travel agent before, but planning the logistics of a month-long European adventure for our family of 5 was too daunting a task for us. We found Linda on the internet -and boy are we glad we did! The experience she put together for us was nothing short of epic. Every detail was thought out and written out.....down to which escalator to use (and not use) in the airports to meet our driver! The tours she booked were absolutely first-rate with professional guides extremely well educated in their subject matter. She listened and incorporated our accommodations preferences and "must-see" wishes and adventures. She drew on her own vast experience to give us tips that we hadn't even thought of - from where to take in the most stunning vistas of Rome to where to get help if somebody gets sick on the trip.
We have already recommended Linda and her agency to all of friends who are planning trips, and will absolutely use her again for our own future

Linda was amazing to work with!! She was very responsive and provided us with so much logistical information that it made our trip easy. This was our first international trip—so we were a little nervous —but Linda guided and assured us at every step of the process. All of our excursions were private tours and all of the restaurants she recommended were amazing! We could not have had a better experience. I highly, highly recommend Linda to plan your next trip!! You won’t be disappointed!

We couldn’t be happier with the trips that Linda Gartner planned for us this past summer. We gave her a huge task, calling truly last minute to put together a weekend trip to Florida and a large trip to Germany!! She couldn’t have been more helpful, excited, efficient, energetic and wow does she know how to get things done! She led us through every step, from choosing what cities to go to, what to see when we’re there, where to stay, how to get from place to place, even good things to eat that were not to be missed. Every time we called, every question we had, she immediately took care of whatever we needed. She thought of every detail. We honestly, literally could not have done it without her. Both trips were absolutely wonderful and we’re so grateful to her. She has a passion for travel and a gift of working with people.
