SUGGESTED DURATION:2 Days
Alaska Cruise Tour Vacation Take the entire family on an Alaska Cruise Tour. I suggest you start in Fairbanks Alaska. See the Ice Museum, natural Hot Springs (bring your bathing suit) or the University of Alaska Museum. Pan for gold at Dredge No. 8. Spend a few days in Denali National Park. Make sure you take the Wilderness Tundra Tour. You can also go White water rafting. Keep you eyes out for eagles, bears, wolves, moose, caribou and mountain goats. In Anchorage do some shopping. Don't miss David Green's Furs the Mint to buy some Alaska gold and Snow City Cafe, which is a great local place to eat. ( Get on the wait list before you arrive on their website) Board your cruise. My favorite ports include Glacier Bay, Sitka, Juneau and Ketchikan. In Juneau head to Mendenhall Glacier visitor center or see the Glacier from the river as you take a rafting trip. Don't miss Creek Street in Ketchikan. Contact me for information about this wonderful vacation.

DAY1
Juneau
Close Day
Mendenhall Glacier
When your ship arrives in Juneau the dock is in the middle of town. This makes it very easy to walk to shops and local restaurants. Start your day with an excursion to Mendenhall Glacier. You have several options including booking a Helicopter tour and dogsled ride on the glacier. This is a once in a life time excursion and is worth the price. After your excursion explore the town shopping. There are many unique shops along the main strip. If you have some additional time take the Roberts Tramway to the top of the mountain for some unbelievable views of the harbor and Juneau. The Roberts Tramway is located at the port so it is very close to where your ship docked.

Glacier Bay
Close Day
Glacier Bay
Get ready for a full day of enjoying Glacier Bay. As you enter this National Park the Park Rangers will board your cruise ship. Keep an eye out for them and watch as their small boat approaches and they jump onboard. Listen to the Naturalist describe the differences in the glacial water. Watch for natural caving as you approach the glacier. I recommend that you have a warm jacket, hat and gloves with you. This area can get chilly and windy. It is better to be prepared so you can enjoy. I also recommend after you see the glacier from an upper deck head down to a lower deck so you can appreciate how large the glacier is.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Take lots of pictures as you approach Glacier Bay.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Put Alaska on top of your bucket list. It is an amazing destination and each area of the state is different. Do not miss Denali National Park. I have travelled to Alaska several times and every trip is a new adventure. Ask me for details.
