Sightseeing in Amsterdam

In 2012, I was able to take my teenage children to Germany. Our goal was to make some of the History they had learned in School come alive. My son enjoyed exploring one of the WWII concrete fortifications created by the French along their border with Germany. My daughter had fun visiting the Neuschwanstein Castle. They both enjoyed wandering around Rothenburg ob der Tauber which is a small medieval village where the community has maintained the wall around old city center. We enjoyed exploring Cologne and Amsterdam for several days as well. We also took a day cruise on the Rhine to see the castles and vineyards along the river.

One of my most memorable trips to Europe was in 2016, my husband and I had the opportunity to travel for 10 days in Venice. We visited several northern Italian cities, Ravenna, Verona and Bologna. We were able to experience these while on a cruise of the Po River, the largest river in Italy. It was a wonderful way to explore this area.  There were many private tours included: after hours tour of San Mark’s Basilica, a Venetian farmers market with our ship’s chef and a glass blowing demonstration. We also enjoyed a historical walking tour of Venice ending at the Doge’s Palace. We also had the time to get lost in Venice, a great way to get to know the City. In Verona, we got to see Juliet’s balcony, the fabled home of Romeo’s family, and a Roman amphitheater that is still used today for music concerts. In Bologna, we say one of the original universities of Italy and learned how to make pasta. In Ravenna, the highlight was being inside a small prayer chapel that was covered in tiles depicting several Biblical stories. The intimacy of the tours made the depth of the Italian Culture come alive.With my extensive experience traveling Europe I am able to listen to your needs and customize an itinerary to you.
