In spite of the fact that I have prepared itineraries for a number of vacations in the past, I chose to use a travel consultant for this one. Best decision ever! I chose Kaleidoscope Travel, and was pleased to have Shelly Neal assist with this somewhat complicated vacation (7 persons in three separate family units). To add to the confusion, this trip was originally a Christmas cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Icon out of Miami. With that trip fully planned (by Shelly), I made a decision to abandon that itinerary and, with hat in hand, then asked Shelly to prepare an additional itinerary for a Mexico Christmas vacation at an all-inclusive. I was extremely impressed with Shelly’s level of professionalism when this occurred – and with her sincere desire to assist with the details concerning the cancellation and also with the brand-new plan. Shelly dealt with all details of our Mexico vacation in a timely and detailed manner – leaving no questions unanswered. Her responses to the occasional (at times frequent!) questions from me were always prompt – often requiring some research on her part. The fact that we had such a great vacation is credited to Shelly’s knowledge, professionalism and dedication to her craft. I cannot recommend Shelly Neal (and Kaleidoscope Travel) enough to anyone seeking assistance with their travel plans.

From walking us through the many steps at the beginning, answering our questions through the months leading up to departure and being available to trouble shoot during little hiccups were so supportive and anxiety reducing!
Your attention to detail, from arranging our transportation to supplying us with a complete printed folder of every document we might need (in case electronics let us down) made our vacation truly stress-free and enjoyable.

Great Family Vacation

Effortless Travelling

After travelling with suitcases and chaos, we dreamed of a trip with no hassle. We told Shelly of our issues with walking and luggage was hard to handle. Shelly has been to many cruise destinations and it was nice to know that she knew exactly what our trip would entail. Shelly set up our trip up so we did not handle our luggage. She arranged the hotel at the port, parking and valet service. We didn't have to deal with our big luggage at all and only had to carry a backpack for the ship’s sailing day. Shelly provided a booklet of what to expect each day, including the day of our hotel stay. She provided a much better guide than the cruise daily itinery, telling what sights to look for, how each port was set up and how to get to our excursions. We chose the Skagway train which had a bus at the dock to pick us up. Ports towns have lots of places to walk but Shelly informed us of the local buses and we used the hop on hop off in Ketichan and just sat and rode around the town 3 times. We got off once to see the museum. It was raining in Ketichan which gets an average of 200” of rain a year, the town rain gage said they had 165” to date. We were prepared for all weather because Shelly had talked with us about what type of clothes to bring on the trip. The ship had a big umbrella but we had our own small ones which we found easier to use when going between stores. In Juneau there were plenty of benches to sit as we walked along. We didn't have lineups or crowds around us as Shelly had mentioned how loading and unloading at the ports were managed and what times we should plan to debark. Our cabin was great, here Shelly had us close to the elevator and close to the food court and dining room. After a day on shore, not having to walk anymore was wonderful. Speaking of food, her tip to use room service for breakfast and morning coffee was one of the best ideas yet! We’ll definitely sail again and Shelly will always be our guide.

Most vacations come with a hefty bill. The bottom line is, at the conclusion of the trip, you want to feel that your dollars were well spent. This is why I decided to hire the services of a travel specialist for the recent Cruise that two friends, my wife and I embarked upon. Although I have some experience with planning vacations, I didn’t hesitate to seek the services of Shelly Neal, of Kaleidoscope Travel). With Shelly’s knowledge and assistance, we were able to book our trip on the right Cruise company (Celebrity) and the exact Itinerary we desire. We also ended up in the perfect stateroom, obtained the ideal dinner reservation time and were provided with a professional booklet (which contained hotel reservation information, flight information, excursion (port) suggestions, travel/health requirements etc). All of our questions/inquiries were always answered promptly and with accurate detail. I would not hesitate to contact Shelly with travel needs in the future.

Skiing in Europe was on our bucket list and Shelly planned us a trip to Austria from scratch and she did an amazing job! We had the trip of a lifetime and enjoyed every second of it. Shelly was always there for us whether it was just checking in, changing transit plans halfway through our trip, finding us a rental car in short notice, and dealing with hotels when there was confusion.
