I've always had ties to Europe - my grandmother had several cousins there and we visited some of them as I grew up - and as I've grown older, the ties have increased and strengthened. I've visited 9 countries there at various times, with plans to visit more, especially now that my best friend lives in the Czech Republic.

My ties to Europe go deeper than family and friends, I'm also a Scotland specialist, and will soon be working on other countries. On my own travels, I was able to visit several countries solo, which enabled me to do a more in depth cultural immersion by interacting more with the locals.

My favorite thing about Europe is the history. Coming from the USA, where our oldest architectural structures are only several hundred years old, it is amazing to see churches, cathedrals, piazzas, castles, and other historic sites that can be one thousand years old, or older! I'm struck by the beauty and artistry that the builders imbibed in their creations.
