Where do you start with Africa- the sights, sounds, smells and colors take your breath away. it is truly is a dream come true to see elephants with their young grazing a few feet away. Or a pride of lions resting in the shade under a tree, one always keeping watch. A cheetah silently stalking through the grass after its prey and on and on.

I have experienced all of this on trips to Kenya and Tanzania- staying in luxurious tented camps- star gazing at night with nothing between you and the sky. Africa is not to be rushed but you can see one country or many, and even add on a beach resort in Zanzibar.

Morning and afternoon game drives with your guides are exciting as you never know what you might encounter up close. There is always excellent viewing from your safari jeep and good binoculars are a must. A real thrill is a sunrise balloon ride over the Masai Mara  watching giraffes running beneath you and hippos wallowing in the rivers. 

Sundowners over a campfire is a relaxing end to the day, even coming with portable bathrooms. A bush breakfast is also a wonderful experience cooked right there by a chef.

Accommodation can be luxury lodges or tented camps with claw foot tubs and decanters of sherry. Listening to the sounds of the Savannah at night with a hot water bottle in your bed is just one wonderful memory.
